The Black Art Depot is proud to be based in two cities in the Southeastern region of the United States with rich African-American history.
Our largest facility is in Durham, North Carolina. Durham was the home of "Black Wall Street", an epicenter for African-American owned businesses since the 1800's. By the end of World War II, the city was known as the "Capital of the Black Middle Class".
In addition, we have a small satellite office in Atlanta, Georgia. It serves as the home of our technical team. We also ship most of our jewelry, Divine Nine merchandise and African fashion from this office. Atlanta is famous for being the center of the Civil Rights Movement and home to the Sweet Auburn District. Civil Rights Leader, John Wesley Dobbs, labeled the Sweet Auburn district as the "richest Negro street in the world".
We are proud to be based in cities with a strong African-American presence and rich African-American history. Our hope is to continue the legacy of strong African-American owned businesses based in these areas.
