Amara is a name in the Igbo ethnic group of Nigeria that means "Grace" or "Mercy of God". It was the inspiration for this work of art by D.D. Ike which depicts a beautiful woman of African descent adorned in a pearl necklace and wearing a colorful and vibrant headwrap with matching earrings. Her eyes are closed during a moment of self-reflection and gratitude.
