A very famous and popular piece by the late Lester Kern featuring a Black Jesus Christ carrying a black woman during a period of adversity in her life. This art print was inspired by the poem, Footprints in the Sand by Mary Stevenson. You can read the entire poem below:
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you."
This art print is available in a variety of sizes, framed and unframed. A great piece for your home or church to remind you of whom you should put your trust in during times of despair.

Lester Kern
Lester Kern is a native of Milwaukee Wisconsin, who now resides in Stone Mountain Georgia. His interest in art developed at around three years of age. This interest was so intense that his parents bought him a small chalk board to divert his attention away from the walls and important papers. This plan worked, and a young artist was born. Because of his diverse background, Lester's artistic style can be described as "extremely versatile." As an artist he views himself as many components that create the whole and therefore refuses to be categorized or "locked" into any one particular style. Lester will admit however, that whatever the style he chooses, his works reflect a strong sense of spirituality, ethnic pride and a joyful celebration of this "chalkboard" we call life. Most in stock items ship in 0 to 5 business depending upon the shipping method selected during checkout.
